Men's Golf Concludes Spring Season Placing Third at the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The Lincoln University men’s golf team was in second after two rounds at the 24th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship and ended up finishing third out of six teams after the third and final round wrapped up Sunday afternoon at the Wanamaker Course.
The Blue Tigers finished with a 945 (310-314-321), while Morehouse College took the title with a 906, while they also had the top individual golfer in Philip Allen who ended up with a 214, a good 10-strokes better than the next closest competitor.
Junior Kyle Brands led the way for Lincoln, as although he didn’t have the low round score in any of the three rounds on the team, he was consistent, shooting under 80 in each round to end up with a 232 (77-76-79) to finish in seventh.
Freshman Dustin Harris was just three-strokes off the pace as he finished in 10th after carding a 235 (79-79-77), as his 77 during the final round was the best score of the Blue Tigers on Sunday.
Sophomores Josh Roller and Kyle Brennaman both landed in a tie for 14th after firing 239’s. Roller opened the championship with his lowest round of 75 and later carded an 84 and 80. Brennaman tied Roller’s team-best round of 75 during the second round, after opening with a 79 and finishing with an 85.
Rounding out the scoring for Lincoln, freshman Dillon Maloney shot a 270 (86-88-96) to finish in 25th.
