Track Teams Remain in Top 10 in Latest USTFCCCA Rankings

NEW ORLEANS – The Lincoln University track and field teams remain in the top 10 in the latest NCAA Division II National Team Rankings as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.

The Lady Blue Tigers were once again in the No. 2 position this week with 227.24 points, trailing Angelo State’s 268.53 points for first overall. Lincoln has remained in the second slot since the second week the rankings came out back on April 13, as the Blue Tigers opened the first week in 16th, before making the jump to second.

On the men’s side, the Blue Tigers fell to the 10th spot with 103.21 points, while Saint Augustine leads the way with 209.75. Lincoln has remained either nine or ten in the rankings since week two, as the Blue Tigers first appeared in the poll at No. 9 on April 13 and remained in that spot for a few weeks before dropping to the 10th slot on April 27. Lincoln moved back to the ninth spot the following week and stayed there until the new rankings came out this week.

The Blue Tigers will have a total of 19 athletes set to compete in the Outdoor Nationals, with 10 going for the women and nine on the men’s side.
