ADA, Ok. – Following a rain out that cancelled play Monday, the Lincoln University women’s golf team played just one round that ended up being the final round of the East Central/Oak Hills Invitational, as the Blue Tigers finished 11th out of 12 teams Tuesday afternoon.
Lincoln fired a 401, as they finished two-strokes ahead of Seminole State Community College, while Northeastern State won the invite with a 320. Redlands Community College’s Kaitlin Higginbotham won the invite with a 74, two-strokes ahead of the next closest golfer.
Freshman Kaitlyn Schwartze led the Blue Tigers with a 91 (46-45) finishing in a tie for 34th overall. Freshman Brittany Smith landed in a tie for 46th after carting a 95 (47-48).
Freshmen Hannah Sprague and Shea Colley rounded out the scoring for Lincoln, with Sprague placing in 56th with a 103 (50-53), while Colley’s 112 (55-57) placed her in 62nd.
Lincoln, after playing two tournaments in a row, will jump right back into action this coming Monday, March 15 when they open the first round of the Texas A&M-Commerce Invitational in Pottsboro, Tex.
